Support Services Technician I-III

K3 is seeking Support Services Technicians in which will coordinate aspects of support to the training center that may include any of the property disposition and accountability inventories, equipment, supplies, facility maintenance requests and tracking fleet management, mail, courier, Diplomatic Pouch. Must have knowledge of Fleet, Logistics and would prefer but not limited to knowledge of military and government security operations.

Each one of these positions are designated I-III by years of relevant work experience, knowledge of Fleet and Logistics as well as supervisory skills.

Security Assistant

The Security Assistant will assist the assigned Government Division Chief and assigned team leader with various security administration duties to ensure the protection of classified national security, information, and Sensitive but Unclassified information within DOS facilities worldwide.

Security Processor

The Security Processor will assist the assigned Government Division Chief and assigned team leader with various security administration duties to ensure the protection of classified national security information and Sensitive but Unclassified information within Department of State facilities worldwide. It is an Entry Level position with a Secret minimum clearance and the place of performance is at National Capital Region.

Security Administrator

The Security Administrator will assist the assigned Division Chief and assigned team leader with various security administration duties to ensure the protection of classified national security information and Sensitive but Unclassified information within Department of State facilities worldwide. This is MID level position with a secret minimum clearance requirement and is based in National Capital Region.

Security Analyst

This Security Analyst works with the current Security team to support program activities and processes. The Personnel Security & Suitability Security Analyst should be familiar with all aspects of industrial, information, insider threat, communication, personnel, operational, or general security best practices of the office. This is a SENIOR level position with a secret minimum clearance based in the National Capital Region.

Security Specialist

The Security Specialist works with the current Security team to support program activities and processes. The contractor shall be familiar with all aspects of industrial, information, insider threat, communication, personnel, operational, or general security best practices as may be applicable to the specific office. This is a SENIOR level position with a secret minimum clearance, based in the National Capital Region.

Program Manager

K3 seeks a Full-Time Program Manager to supervise and oversee multiple task orders, including financial, contracts, acquisitions, and team members. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and comparable education in the relevant field—experience in growing programs and client relations. Must have and maintain a TS Security Clearance. Ten (10) years prior experience working in/with DoS is a necessity.

This supervisory position will oversee multiple task orders, including financial, contracts, acquisitions, and team members. Must have knowledge of Department of State, strong program management experience from $50 to $100M, and leadership skills.  The Program Manager will coordinate and monitor assigned programs’ scheduling, pricing, and technical performance. Ensures adherence to program master plans and schedules and develops solutions to program problems. Develops and maintains a support tracking system, ensuring that all associated administrative and support requests are fielded, and advises the program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Monitors and reports the progress of all assigned programs. Ensures compliance with program contractual, cost, and schedule objectives and develops quality assurance standards and checks.  Review all customer evaluations and institute corrective actions to satisfy customer concerns. Interview candidates for all associated positions; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions.

One of the following certifications: Program Management Professional (PMP) certification, Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM), or other acceptable program certifications.

Public Programs Event Coordinator

The Public Programs and Events Coordinator will play a key role in planning, implementing, and managing public programs and invitation-only events. This role requires close coordination with multiple teams within the museum, as well as with external partners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in managing events and programs. Location: DC Metro Area / Minimum of a Secret Clearance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with the Education, Curatorial, Development, Operations, Digital Outreach teams, and the Historian to develop and execute public programs and invitation-only events that align with the mission and goals.
  • Content Creation and Coordination: Work with the Communications Team to create and manage social media and website content related to public programs and invitation-only events.
  • Outreach and Documentation: Draft and distribute invitations, internal notices, and other written communications for programs and events. Maintain accurate guest lists and update museum mailing lists and databases post-event.
  • Senior Official Coordination: Prepare necessary documentation for the participation of senior officials in NMAD events and facilitate collaboration and clearance processes.
  • Department of State Liaison: Coordinate with other offices at the Department of State on programming matters, including securing participation and obtaining content clearance for events.
  • Volunteer and Staff Oversight: Supervise Museum staff and volunteer participation at events, ensuring effective coordination and execution of public programs and invitation-only events.
  • Partnership Management: Establish and manage program-specific partnerships with external speakers and groups, including scheduling meetings and preparing briefing materials.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with museum leadership and the museum’s non-profit partner to develop budgets for programs and events.
  • Catering and Contracting: Conduct outreach to caterers and other event contractors to secure their services for programs, in consultation with museum leadership.
  • Content Development: Research and draft blog posts, articles, and other written materials about upcoming programs for the museum’s website and social media.
  • Research Support: Assist the museum historian with research and content production related to the programs.
  • Accessibility and Security: Support staff in researching and drafting accessibility statements and surveys to enhance the visitor experience related to events and programming.
  • Space Management: Liaise with external offices for the limited use of event spaces, oversee space walkthroughs, and manage space requests, ensuring adherence to the guidelines and availability.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in history, International Relations, Government, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years working for a federal agency. Demonstrated experience planning and executing private events and public programs for 50 to 100+ people.
  • Preferred Experience: Previous work experience with museums or other public-facing non-profit institutions is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on professional, concise email outreach and coordination.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate across various teams.
    • Experience in budget management and partnership development.
    • Proficiency in research and content development.
Communication and Visual Design Specialists

Position Overview:

The Research and Communications Specialist is responsible for creating innovative and engaging products that effectively communicate research findings and data to field practitioners. This role involves translating complex data into impactful visual formats, developing research products, and implementing communication strategies to enhance the understanding and use of research within the professional development (PD) community.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative products, including data visualizations, that engage field practitioners. 
  • Translate data into impactful charts, graphs, infographics, and presentations. Design and develop research products that connect field-based PD practitioners to research and analysis reports and resources.  
  • With guidance from unit leadership, develop and implement communications campaigns to better inform the PD community of new and existing research as well as capacity building tools to understand and use research.  
  • Support R/PPR in strategic discussions and problem-solving, communications planning, and integration and implementation of strategies to increase awareness and engagement of key program stakeholders with REU research. 
  • Research, brainstorm and plan with the REU team before creating a design. 
  • Provide project management support in a range of areas, including program/campaign development, materials development, and stakeholder outreach. 
  • Assist leadership with the development of key messages and visual products.  
  • Ensure consistent, accurate, and tailored communications with internal and  
  • Perform quality assurance reviews on written products and data visualizations.  
  • Represent and articulate the REU’s work, especially in research and analysis, to clients and Department stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • a SECRET level Security Clearance. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public affairs, public relations, information & visual design, or strategic communications.  
  • Experience presenting information in a way that makes it easy to understand by a variety of users.
  • Two years’ experience with data visualization.
  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies.
  • Knowledge of current communication practices and common software tools.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Experience with graphic design, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google products.
  • Ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: Communications in the State Department or another national security / foreign affairs department or agency.
  • Preferred: Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience with social marketing, behavior change, and change management
  • Preferred: Experience working with foreign policy professionals.
  • Preferred: Work experience writing and editing content such as 1-pagers, reports and other communications documents for a federal agency or international development programs for a variety of audiences.
